A great week!

Just a quick update on our past week...

It was very productive and although the cooler weather has left us temporarily (please come back soon!), we have just been enjoying the outdoors as much as possible and the lower electric bills as a result of no ac!

My goals for last week were to finish Maddi's quilt and painting the boys room..both of which got done...yay! I just have a couple touch up in the boys room tomorrow as well as furniture rearrangement and then we will get the bunks in/set up and with any luck they will be sleeping in there by next Friday when Joe is with us. It's cute to see the boys so excited about the bunks. Avery will be sleeping on the top and Joe on the bottom. I have to say I am a little concerned about the top bunk thing being as pregnant as I am but I think that he will do fine and if' it's hard, he'll just have to sleep on the bottom. It was their decision though for it to be this way..Joe did not want the top bunk!

I feel compelled to mention a couple other notable items from this past week...the bunkbeds did not include a ladder. I figured we could pick one up or Jay could build one but it was a bit of a pain worrying about it so I decided to put an ad up that I was wanting one on a board that I sometimes visit. Well, low & behold, someone emailed me having one and we scored a ladder for free! It's really nice and we are painting the whole set anyway, so the wood will match just fine. On top of that this past week, I was able to get a free boppy in excellent condition (we have never had one for Avery or Mayci and I really wanted one this time) with a girl cover (although I may make a different, more wintery cover), AND the boys HAD to stop at this yard sale on the way home from the park yesterday that was closing up. We were told to take whatever we wanted as it was being driven to Goodwill. Well, I have plenty of my own stuff that needs to go to Goodwill but I could not pass up a really cute Bumble Gum ball toy for Mayci, 3 or 4 unopened packages of bias tape, some fabric, and the boys got a couple little toys that they were thrilled about. All in all, a great bargain week!

The kids are doing good too. Joe got a great report card and is doing very well at school. Avery has been having a blast riding the new bike he got for his birthday a couple weeks ago (I need to take the camera one of these days) and asks to ride it every day and Mayci is just her sweet self! Today, while on the way to church, we asked Mayci what she wanted for Christmas. She said "glasses" and pointed at me wearing my sunglasses. I said "okay, anything else?" She said "cookies" and then "chocolate". Hmmmm...remind you of anyone? Joe & Avery then started talking about the year Avery wanted a birthday cake for Christmas and how he got one. They couldn't believe it. Just an adorable conversation among siblings! We are looking forward to the holidays and our new blessing. Now to get started on making some of these gifts. I have pretty much everything figured out that is being made, it's just a matter of getting going!

Well, off to bed. Hope everyone has a great upcoming week. For this week, I am shooting to get the boys in their bunks and their room all put back together/organized and playroom emptied as well as the dust ruffle & bumper pad made for Maddi. I would love to get some of these gifts going too but we will see!
