Following The Fisk's

So, despite the fact that I am not unpacked yet...I just had to do a little bit of decorating while Jay was off this Monday/Tuesday. Nothing major but he did hang one of my lights that I have been waiting so impatiently to put up. I really love it and thought I would share.

Let me start by saying that I am not a big fan of brass and this house is BRASSED out! Sooo, while his idea was to save that for awhile down the road, when I saw this deal on Craigslist, I couldn't pass it up. I got this light for $2.50! Yes, you read that right! Actually, I got 2 lights for $5 (I will soon reveal the other) so I split the cost in half :) Upon picking the light up, I wasn't sure. I knew that it had hope and figured some spray paint would do the trick. BUT, after hitting it with some windex, that wasn't even necessary!! I liked the dark bronze finish of it and left it that way.

I wish I got better before pictures but I was managing the children and forgot until it was almost too late so here it is:

I am pretty happy with this little transformation...I think it changes the look and I like the ceiling effect when it's on also! You can also see I hung our Fisk Family sign above the door :)  What do you think?
