This week, Mayci started a program at the library called Brain Boxes. It is for 3 weeks on Wednesday, so we have 2 more sessions. Essentially, it is a class of about 12 of us parents with our kids and the focus is on using play to enhance brain development. It is very informative and the kids had a fun time (of course Avery is participating too, by default). The library was awarded a $1700 grant with the materials for this program and we are excited to be a part of it. Each child even gets a free book at the end of each session, very impressive!
We also went to the splash pad at the mall this week. It was good although Avery and Mayci were not really into splashing. Avery fell when we first got there and that set the tone so we just went and played at the playground area & had a picnic. I was laughing though because we were in a grass area with our blanket and lunch and I looked up and a sign read "absolutely no food or drink in play area"...oh well, blame it on the prego brain, haha.
Playing at the park..she has my water bottle, sunglasses & camera case. She always wants to carry "mommy" stuff...so cute.
Playing in a box...it's the little things that make kids so happy :-)
AND, our big girl on the potty! She has been wanting to go so we have been letting her. She used to just sit but now she is grabbing her diaper and saying she has to go and actually going when we put her on the potty!! Gotta love the magazine, she grabbed it off the back of the toilet...

NO! Only little boys are supposed to read on the toilet...not my sweet little niece!
