Bringing back the blog!

Well, this is going to be my time of effort in bringing back our blog! I realize I have been a bit of a slacker, it has just gotten frustrating for me not being able to easily upload pix and making the time to do it, but I am going to give it a shot at being better at updating. I have heard from people that they miss the updates but I think most of all I miss the updates! I always love looking back at our blog and moments of time. Especially these days, when my memory is not the greatest, haha!

Things around here are going well. Joe started back to school on 8/10. He is in 3rd grade this year and that is very hard to believe! His teacher seems to be very nice and he likes her so far. It's been a bit of an ajdustment without him around here. While being down one child is somewhat nice for unloading the car, laundry, etc. Avery really misses his big brother. That does make it hard. BUT, we will certainly be enjoying the weekends that he is with us!
Our silly boy making faces at dinner one night. I couldn't help but get out the camera!
Mayci & her cousin, Sam! They hung out the other night while the older kids (and adults)
went ice blocking!
Jay & Avery at the park. We've been trying to go after dinner a couple times a week.
Avery loves the park & it's the only time it's cool enough to really go.

Avery is doing great these days. I've been trying to have a bit more structure/routine to our day so we will have a learning time where right now we are working on the days of the week, story & snack time, music, crafts, etc. It does not all happen as I would like it to EVERY day but we've been pretty on the ball and he just loves it. He has actually shown a tremendous change in the past few days in his manners and overall whininess! I am hoping we are outgrowing the terrible 3's! It's amazing to me that he will be four years old in 2 months...I just don't know where the time goes. He is still very into Star Wars and has decided on a Star Wars birthday party (thanks cousins!) and has informed me that he only wants Star Wars toys FOR his birthday. He has quite the list too, he is hiliarious. Everyone asks us if Avery is in pre-school right now and the answer is no. Since he is just turning 4 the end of October, he will not attend kindergarten until the year after next, when he is actually just a few months shy of turning 6. This is, unless we can get some sort of way of getting an exception. We just haven't pushed the pre-school thing. We had looked at a couple options but a) do not want to travel far from Queen Creek and b) do not have much of a budget for pre-school, which can be pretty pricey. And really, since he still has 1 year before it's the year before kindergarten, we are okay with us just working with him on stuff this year.

Mayci is doing great. I can't believe how much she grows EVERY day. She is such a little girl! She loves her babies and playing mommy. She has little bottles and will feed them and lay them in her bed and put their pacifiers in. She is also loving dressing up. She will go to my closet for my shoes and try to walk in them and always has to have a purse. She'll tell me "bye!" and walk off down the hallway with her purse and usually a baby. She also still loves Barney and Elmo. She really likes the show Caillou right now and calls it "guy??" Mayci loves dogs and all animals really. She can pretty much make any animal sound, including an elephant! She communicates very well with us, telling us really whatever she wants when she wants it and keeping right up with her brother. It's amazing to me because it still seems she is such a baby.
Swinging at the park!

Even crazier is that there will be another baby around here before we know it! I am feeling pretty good these days. It's hard to imagine I only have 4 months left. I just know that between the upcoming birthdays & holidays, that the time will fly and we will have our precious baby girl! We have decided to create a new nursery in our playroom. The plan, with another girl, was to have her & Mayci share however the more I thought that out, the more I knew it wouldn't work while the baby was still little and would cause a lot of stress around naptimes, etc. And, Mayci likes to play in her room so I felt bad thinking she would not be able to go in there because the baby was sleeping. So, we are working on moving the playroom stuff to various places and cleaning out! I thought the boys may be upset and that was a concern but they NEVER play in there! It's just a storeroom for their toys, really. I have most of the closet cleaned out and have started moving baby stuff in...yay!

Okay, enough of my long post! I just thought I would catch everyone up. I am hoping to blog daily/every other day...I know I've said this before so we will see ;-)
