The day has come to celebrate one year since the birth of our beautiful baby girl! It's all so bittersweet because it's amazing to me that an entire year has passed and that makes me sad and yet I am so happy to think of what is to come in this next year.
I can remember one year ago getting ready to go into the hospital to be induced. We dropped Avery off at Kids Day Out with my mother in law to pick him up later. We went into the hospital to start the long process that I said after Avery I would never go through again! Most of you know the sequence of events from there with our doctor, etc. but our little girl finally entered the world at 8:54 p.m. weighing 7 lbs. 2 oz. They told us at that time she was 18" long but when we went to the dr. a couple days later we were told they measured wrong and they measured her at 20 1/4". My mother and father in law were there with Avery, who had fallen asleep. He came back to meet Mayci in the morning and the first thing he did was "honk honk" her nose. I will never forget that.
Mayci is truly the joy of our life. When she was born, she was pale, pale skinned with jet black hair, resembling Snow White and I still get comments almost daily on how she looks like Snow White with her dark hair and fair skin. Some of the first words spoken by the nurses when they were cleaning her up were that she was going to be a good, quiet girl because she was not making much noise when they were poking at her. And really, she's continued that pattern this whole year. She has always slept well, she transitioned to her crib perfectly, she doesn't cry when you wash or hair or cut her nails (things Avery still cries about), she will just sit and play and "be". We love her so much & are so proud to be her mommy & daddy.
In honor of her birthday, I thought I would share some favorite photos from the past year...I am having upload issues so there are not as many as I would like to share but a few nonetheless!

And here is our little princess at ONE!
