Canyon Lake / Goldfield Ghost Town

Well, I am still working on the pictures and decided I will do them in blocks since there are so many. Tonight I have our pics from Canyon Lake and Goldfield Ghost Town where we went on 12/26. It was FREEZING that day, with crazy wind as well. We were all bundled up walking around the ghost town & riding the train but it was WELL worth it. If you are local & have not taken the drive up through Apache Junction on the 88, by the Superstitions, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's gorgeous, especially if you catch it in late afternoon/sunset as we did!

I am really missing having my family here. Avery keeps making little comments too, which is hard. He was calling my nephew, Chris, his friend...it was so cute and he has said a few things about his "friend", who is really his cousin. For instance:

My sister brought an eyepatch and pirate earring as part of a dress up thing for Avery and he was wearing the eye patch today and said "oh no, I thought this was my friends, he forgot it". My nephew had an incident recently that caused him to have to get a fake tooth so he would have to remove it when he ate. Avery was just so caught up in this and would ask him if he had his teeth in! So tonight he exclaimed "I can't take my teeth out, but my friend can". Oh friend...we miss you!

Today, the boys worked on a little 2009 project, it was just some gluing & decorating but I had Joe brainstorm & write about 5 things that 2009 will bring or he would like to bring....they include (in his words):
* I will go to 3rd grade *
* I want to learn how to play guaitur *
* In 2009 I will turn 8 *
* I want to go to San, Diego. *
* I wnt to learn how to ride a bike with no traing wheels. *

Cute. Hopefully we can make those things happen, Joey! Guess we better break out "how to play guaitur for dummies" or call Uncle Pete!

An Arizona Cactus

This was from the train, the sky was so dark and the sun was starting to set on these buildings..so pretty.

Another one like that

I just love the sky in this pic, we just don't see this often in AZ!

Same here, could have had better composition but the sky was changing by the second so I grabbed it while I could!

Until next time!
