It's been a good couple weeks but kind of tough. I've had a lot of back pain and discomfort, which has caused me not to be able to do as much as I hoped to get done. Throw all the things I wanted to get done in the nursery and for Christmas gifts, etc. together and then my business stuff being very busy and I have felt over loaded. I finally just came to terms with the fact that Maddi will not care if her nursery is finished or not...she won't even be in there for awhile. We have a beautiful bassinett that was used for Avery and Mayci that she will love and everything else will just have to fall into place!
We have been enjoying this beautiful Christmas season. We love having to wear jackets and to smell the Christmas tree upon entering the house. With Mayci being older this year, it's fun to see her reaction to everything. She loves snowmen, just as Avery always has. She sings "Frosty the snowman" at very random points throughout the day, it's adorable how she says it. When asked what she wants for Christmas, she says "cookies!" and she talks about how she cried when she saw Santa and wanted mommy. Mayci's speech has taken a major turn in the last couple weeks. She has really started putting her words together and will say "love you too, mommy" and "hi avery" as well as other 2-5 word sentences. She is such a smiley girl. I am sad to think about being away from her during the hospital stay. I know she will be very well cared for but you have to remember this will be my first time away from her and I felt the same when leaving Avery when she was born.
Avery...dear Avery, lol. He is such a handful! Why did I think that things would get easier when he turned 4? They have not. He chases Mayci around all day. He just wants to be entertained 24/7. He wears me out but man, I love that boy! His little voice is so sweet in asking about how he was in my belly and he drank bottles and that he will have two little baby girls now. Very sweet. He is really into drawing right now and has been making me smiley faces "because that is what he draws best", lol!
Joe is doing well too, he is looking forward to winter break at school a lot. We know he will take on a lot of responsibility after the baby is born and hopefully he is up for it! He and Avery will be super pals while I am busy with the girls. They'll both be sitting in the back of the Expedition as well and are excited about having the back to themselves.
Well, signing off. Need to finish up some Christmas cards and other misc stuff even though I really just want to go to bed...it's 11:30! Hope everyone is having a blessed holiday season!
How can you resist this little girl! Her mouth is red from the oreo cookie filling!
Avery had so much fun decorating the tree! He was the only one that was into it. To his luck, after decorating it one night, it fell so he was able to do it again the next day!
Our tree!
Our little artist
Pretty good, huh?
