Avery started kindergarten today! It is just crazy to think that 5 1/2 years have passed and that the school years have arrived. Although most of you have probably heard me say I couldn't wait for him to start school one time or another (or 20x!), it was a very emotional time for me.
This week has been hard. It just means a new chapter. It's been me at home with him since birth and to see him leave my little nest, is a hard thing! I am so proud of him and wonderful little boy he has become. We had so much fun shopping for a backpack and school supplies and he did excellent today. He even opted to ride the bus! He was so excited to see his cousin, Jesse, and to be a big boy.
His teacher called me to let me know that he had gotten there fine and had even gone right in and found a seat. I was much more relieved after hearing from her. After I got him from the bus, he told me all about his day, sitting with his cousin (and our neighbor.."cause a seat can hold three people, mom") and his new friend, Abby. Too cute!
