2 months? Really?!

Anyone seen the last two months? I sure haven't! haha. Life. Sometimes it just moves faster than you'd wish and it sure has been wild. Where to start...my niece came to visit the end of July/beg of August for a couple weeks. It was great...the kids enjoyed the time, I enjoyed having some company and it was hard to see her go. While she was here, she and Maddi got their ears pierced! She got her 2nd hole. Maddi did great and although we've had some issues since (no infection, just lost an earring at some point), they're fine now and she doesn't even know they are there!

Following her visit, the kids started right back to school. Joe is in 4th grade this year and really likes his teacher so far. Avery started back at pre-school at our church. He has made some great buddies already. He will be starting a soccer program through school as well, which he is really excited about! He also has his 5th birthday next month. Hard to imagine that our little man was born 5 years ago! He can't wait for his birthday this year!

The girls are doing great. The day that Avery went back to school, I decided to really buckle down on Mayci's potty training. She'd been going on her own for awhile anyway but still wore diapers for naps and at bedtime and really for any outings. We took this away and she got it the first day! She is doing great and we are so proud of our Mayci girl. She is growing up so fast and is so sweet. She has an amazing vocabulary and comprehension and we are just amazed daily by her sweet nature. Ditto for Maddi. She is just the most mild tempered baby girl! We are happy to say that she seems to have outgrown any milk allergy that she had! We just switched her formula one day with some we had here and she did fine on it. So far, no problems. She is also a champ at eating...loves cheerios and puffs as well as her Baby Mum-Mums which were also Mayci's favorite! They are basically rice cakes but like little biscuits. She doesn't really have a favorite fruit or vegetable although bananas and sweet potatoes are up there. She def prefers just food now so I need to add some more variety. She has also started sitting up! She has been for a little while but still needed a bit of support but now she is doing great. She knows how to get back to her belly (which she prefers) and does a crazy army crawl type maneuver. She is sometimes successful at getting to where she is wanting to go and sometimes not but man can she move her legs!!

Last week, Jay's grandmother, Nanny, passed away. Nanny was an amazing lady, of which Mayci is named after (Jean). She is Jay's moms mom and also lived in Missouri. Nanny lived a full 89 years as a very strong and remarkable business woman, mom and grandmother. She had a lot of farm land in Missouri as well that she and her husband ran growing up. While Jay was back in Missouri for her funeral, he got to see this and said it was just amazing. We will miss her dearly.

Here are a few photos of the last few weeks. It's finally cooling so we got to the park the other day to kick the soccer ball around and well..play in the dirt of course! I cannot express my happiness that summer is on it's way outta here!
